A 79-year-old man walking on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach died after he was struck by a vehicle early Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The crash that left Juan Martinez Tovar of Santa Ana dead occurred about 5:10 a.m. just south of Brookhurst Street, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Tovar was a 59-year-old man from Newport Beach, police said. He stayed at the site of the crash and was cooperating with the investigation.
