A preliminary 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck just south of San Juan Bautista, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake, centered about 2.8 miles south San Juan Bautista, hit at 12:26 p.m., the USGS said.

No other information was immediately available. Updates to come.
