A preliminary 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck near the California and Nevada state line Friday night, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The epicenter was recorded 15.6 miles from Mina, Nevada at 11:50 p.m.

No other information was immediately available. Updates to come.
