A stolen vehicle ran into several parked cars during a police pursuit that ended in a crash in Sylmar Wednesday night.

Sky5 arrived above the scene around 8:30 p.m., as the black Honda sedan was speeding erratically down Balboa Boulevard, at times driving on the wrong side of the street and onto curbs. At one point, the driver collided with the side of a recreational vehicle parked along the road.

It’s unclear when or where exactly the chase began, but officers confirmed the vehicle was stolen, Los Angeles police spokesperson Mike Lopez said.

After turning onto Glenoaks Boulevard, the driver slammed into the rear of another parked car just south of the intersection with Roxford Street, the aerial video showed.

The driver fled on foot, but officers detained him a short time later in the backyard of a home.

No further details were immediately available Wednesday night.
